This is the third email blast for the FIRST LEGO League World Festival at the FIRST® Championship presented by BAE Systems in Houston, TX, USA. If your team recently registered for the event – welcome! Find all FIRST LEGO League Championship updates on our blog!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Payment and Registration Deadline: World Festival Team Registration and Payment of $500.00 must be completed by March 24, 2023.

HOTEL AND TRAVEL

FIRST Championship is getting closer - start checking off your to-do list. Book your hotel accommodations with FIRST for low rates at FIRST-reviewed and sanctioned hotels close to the venue. Make sure to also book any necessary airfare, rental cars or ground transportation. Visit the FIRST Championship website for additional information.

RECENT QUESTIONS

Should we bring our team model?

Absolutely! Team models should be displayed on your pit table and should also be brought to your Reviewing session. Please plan to bring something that allows you to transport your team model, like a sturdy piece of cardboard or small cart. The Reviewers are eager to see what your team has created and hear about what you have learned.

What will our pit space look like?

Each team will have a 2.5’ by 6’ table for their team models, decorations, and other items for display. If you intend to display a banner, you must plan to do so in front of your table or bring a small stand to place on top of the table. No support structure will be provided behind the table for hanging items.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL

Process for International Teams to Request VISA Letters from FIRST

Teams traveling from outside of the United States who need assistance securing visas should contact us as soon as possible. To request the visa invitation letter please click here. This is for anyone who plans on attending any of the World Festival.

This invitation letter acts as a supporting document for your appointment at your local US Embassy. FIRST does not assist with the visa application process and cannot provide guidance for which visa schedule one qualifies for; kindly check in with your local Embassy. You can also view the Department of State visa categories here determine your eligibility on your own. For clarifying questions, please email dgalatas@firstinspires.org
