Team “Takevians” Honored as the Winner of the 2022 FIRST® LEGO® League Global Innovation Award presented by Qualcomm

FIRST® LEGO® League team “Takevians” from Samsun, Turkey was honored as the 2022 Global Innovation Award presented by Qualcomm winner at the live award ceremony in St. Louis, Missouri, on June 23. Their winning innovation, Durable Packaging, Solid Cargo, strengthens the most used cargo packaging in the world, corrugated cardboard boxes, without changing the amount and type of material.

FIRST® Prepares Students to Thrive as Adults in a Rapidly Changing World

FIRST® has partnered with leading consumer storytelling platform Upworthy to tell stories about the transformative power of our program. Upworthy is known for its “feel-good” content and reaches a wide audience of parents, those interested in STEM and/or global solutions, and folks who simply like positive stories. Our second article focuses on how FIRST prepares students to thrive as adults in a rapidly changing world with mentorship from adult volunteers such as educators and STEM professionals. With these mentors’ support, each season 700,000+ students are developing problem-solving skills and learning confidence, cooperation, empathy, and resilience—skills that will serve them well in their future careers.
