FIRST® has partnered with leading consumer storytelling platform Upworthy to tell stories about the transformative power of our program. Upworthy is known for its “feel-good” content and reaches a wide audience of parents, those interested in STEM and/or global solutions, and folks who simply like positive stories. Our second article focuses on how FIRST prepares students to thrive as adults in a rapidly changing world with mentorship from adult volunteers such as educators and STEM professionals. With these mentors’ support, each season 700,000+ students are developing problem-solving skills and learning confidence, cooperation, empathy, and resilience—skills that will serve them well in their future careers. Hear from folks around the FIRST community, including Vitruvian Bots mentor and Raytheon engineer Fazlul “Fuzz” Zubair, Qualcomm Incorporated’s Natalie Dusi, and FIRST CEO Chris Moore.
