In the News: Longtime Detroit Teacher Leads Robotics Team to Expose Students to Higher Learning

Dedicated FIRST mentors and educators like Tracy Ortiz from FIRST Tech Challenge Team 14005 “Robo-Eagles” help inspire students through life-changing robotics opportunities. “Growing up, my family didn’t have a lot of money, but I was exposed to different opportunities and that is what I want for all of my students,” Tracy told Detroit Free Press, which followed her team’s preparation for a FIRST® Tech Challenge competition in Michigan.
