FIRST® Student Creates Wheelchair Innovation

Inspiration. Teamwork. Communication. Engineering design. FIRST students and alumni know that’s a winning formula for building a better world. Jacob Zlotnitsky used those FIRST-built skills as one of ten high school students from Bullis School who rose to the challenge to innovate a solution that enabled new father Jeremy King to safely take his child for strolls while operating his wheelchair.

For more about how Jacob, of FIRST® Tech Challenge Team 9667 “Bullis Gold,” aided in the development process and created incredible impact for the King family, read the Washington Post.

August Professional Development Available
Join our upcoming remote FIRST Certified Professional Development courses on August 21 and 28 for FIRST LEGO League and FIRST Tech Challenge and prepare for the upcoming school year. Each course provides the necessary tools to bring FIRST programs to your classroom or a structured afterschool program. We’ll have additional in-person and remote cohort dates to announce soon.
