Celebrate innovation with FIRST® LEGO® League on Saturday Join us Saturday, June 27, at 11 a.m. ET on FIRSTtv for the 10th annual Global Innovation Award presented by Disney, where 20 semi-finalist FIRST® LEGO® League teams will be recognized for their CITY SHAPERSM innovations, and you’ll have the opportunity to live vote for the Community Choice Award. Special guest speakers include Disney Imagineers Scott Trowbridge and Margaret Kerrison, who will dive into the design and creation of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during a live Q&A with FIRST® alum Libby Kamen. FIRST LEGO League teams showcase accomplishments on new digital platform More than ever, we must come together to innovate and solve problems. When schools are out and FIRST LEGO League teams are apart, we are still part of a thriving community brimming with inspiration, creativity, and hope. To bring teams together globally and recognize their achievements, FIRST launched the FIRST LEGO League Showcase for teams around the world to share what they’ve accomplished in the FIRST® RISESM powered by Star Wars: Force for Change season. NI invests in FIRST® to #EngineerAmbitiously Longtime FIRST Strategic Partner National Instruments, now NI, is renewing its partnership with FIRST through 2026, and the next phase will focus on making FIRST programs even more accessible to girls, students of color, and economically disadvantaged students. How to develop students’ holistic skills during distance learning The latest Inspire blog post from the FIRST Education team explores how educators, parents, and coaches can use the FIRST Core Values to create an engaging environment through activities for students at home. The Education team has developed a series of free and flexible PreK-12 STEM activities for teachers, parents, and coaches to engage students in STEM learning, skill development, and fun in a variety of learning environments this summer. FIRST teams featured on Food Network’s Duff Takes the Cake FIRST was featured on a recent episode of Food Network’s Duff Takes the Cake. Duff Goldman and his team of talented decorators delivered a Star Wars droid cake to FIRST® Robotics Competition students at the INFINITE RECHARGESM Los Angeles North Regional competition.
