In April, FIRST^® hosted more than 30,000 students, mentors/coaches, volunteers, sponsors, media, and supporters from around the world at the 2022 FIRST Championship in Houston, celebrating the conclusion of the 2021-2022 robotics season, FIRST FORWARD^SM presented by Qualcomm. Our FIRST community is full of dedicated and inspirational teachers who work together to build a better future. We launched the Inspire the Future: FIRST Educators Recognition Program as part of our commitment to recognize the outstanding work of educators in the FIRST community, and this Teacher Appreciation Week, we are proud to announce our 10 honorees for the inaugural year of the Recognition Program.

This is the moment to get energized to innovate. From the machines that move us to the food that sustains us to the wireless technologies that connect us, energy plays an essential role in keeping our world running. During our 2022-2023 robotics season, FIRST ENERGIZE℠ presented by Qualcomm, our teams will reimagine the future of sustainable energy and power their ideas forward. FIRST^® Robotics Competition Team 316 “Lunatecs” uses skills learned through FIRST to design, fabricate, and donate adaptive devices to improve the lives of physically challenged individuals and the organizations that serve them. The team created a nonprofit, South Jersey Robotics, to provide college students the opportunity to volunteer as project leads for the adaptive devices. With Disney and Lucasfilm, we’re sharing their story as part of our Build the Future powered by Star Wars: Force for Change initiative. “May the fourth” be with all our teams acting as forces for good in their communities!
