Inspired by “Teacher in Space” Christa McAuliffe and our community of educators, we want to celebrate the FIRST teachers who impact and inspire their learning communities. Lucasfilm and Disney are teaming up with FIRST for a second season of Galactic Builders. In episode 3, we learn how two Mattel toy designers and a FIRST student — Matthew from FIRST^® Robotics Competition team "Athenian Robotics Collective” — are using their design and engineering skills to bring Star Wars characters to life. COVID-19 interrupted learning for students across the globe. Now hands-on education for students is more important than ever to engage young people in STEM through team-based, project-based learning.
