Celebrating 36 years of FIRST®

On March 20, 1989, inventor and entrepreneur Dean Kamen founded FIRST® with a dream – to inspire kids around the world to pursue STEM fields and prepare them for the future. Dean’s dream has driven global impact and positive STEM outcomes for millions of young people.

On our 36th birthday, hear from Dean on how his vision for FIRST has grown into a movement that is proven to be so much #morethanrobots.

Help inspire the next generation of innovators

Through FIRST, students of all ages can explore the breadth of career opportunities STEM education provides and begin paving the way to follow their own dreams.

In honor of our birthday, we're asking our community to help us continue to prepare young innovators for the future with a gift today. As a thank you, we will send you an exclusive FIRST patch.
