Hi Friend,
Program Updates, Deadlines & Reminders
Deadline Today! Event Preferencing: The first round of event preferencing is closing today, Thursday, September 29, at 12 noon Eastern Time. For more information about event preferencing visit our User Guide. Remember, it does not matter when you indicate your preferences within this window, as long as you get your preferences in before the deadline.
Kit & Kickoff Selection Update: We are continuing to work on an issue with the Kit & Kickoff selection in the FIRST® Dashboard. As a reminder, while we work on correcting this issue, we have shut off teams' ability to sign up for Kickoffs. We will make an announcement once this has been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience but appreciate your understanding and patience.
Upcoming! Second Event Registration: Round 2 of Event Preferencing will open Thursday, October 6, at 12 noon Eastern Time, and will close Thursday, October 13, at 12 noon Eastern Time.
2023 Safety Animation Theme Announced: In this FIRST® Robotics Competition blog, we announced the 2023 Safety Animation theme, submission information, and the 2023 Safety Manual!
NASA FIRST Robotics Competition Grant: The NASA FIRST Robotics Competition Grant is closing soon! Visit NASA’s grant application page to review requirements and apply by Friday, September 30, 2022, 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Time (Saturday, October 1, 2022, 2:59:59 a.m. Eastern Time.)
Late Registration for First Events: Event Ready teams that miss the first round of preferencing can pick events in our late registration period that opens on Friday, September 30, at 12 noon Eastern Time. “Event Ready teams” refers to teams that have two lead mentors (screened for U.S. & Canada only) and no outstanding tasks. This allows teams to select available events for their first event only. To select an event, login to the FIRST Dashboard, click on your team, and then in far-right column “Team Events”, click on “Event Options” drop down menu and select “View Team Events.”
FIRST Updates
FIRST® Students are More Than: At FIRST, we want EVERY kid to believe in themselves and know that they are More Than the stereotypes or ‘boxes’ society has placed them in. In a new public service announcement (PSA), we call on adults to encourage the young people in their life to engage in new opportunities that might seem outside their comfort zone and help promote self-esteem through STEM-related activities.
Together, we can inspire kids everywhere to take pride in being exactly who they are. Learn more about the More Than campaign and use our social media toolkit to grow the movement and share your story using #IAmMoreThan.
