Hi Friend,

FIRST® Headquarters will be closing at 3 P.M. Eastern Time on Friday, December 21, 2018. Our regular business hours will resume on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 8:30 A.M. Eastern Time.
Kickoff, powered by Rockwell Automation, is on January 5, 2019: Join us for the 30th season of FIRST® in DESTINATION: DEEP SPACE Presented By The Boeing Company. Kickoff – powered by Rockwell Automation - is a celebration event, so gather your #stemsquad and tune in to our Twitch channel if you can’t make it to a local kickoff! More information here.
Surrogate Kit Pickup Letter: If a team is unable to pick up its Kickoff Kit at the local Kickoff an alternate team may be designated to do so. The team that is not able to attend must provide FIRST with a surrogate kit pickup letter. These letters must be received at FIRST by January 3, 2019. Visit this page for more information.

Space at Regionals: Even though many of our Regional events have waiting lists, we still have plenty of room in these locations, as well as others: Del Mar Regional, California, in Week 1; Bosphorus Regional, Turkey, and Southern Cross Regional, Australia in Week 2; Iowa Regional in Week 3; and Idaho Regional in Week 5.  If you would to register your team for any of these events or others with space, please send an email to

Championship Conference Opportunity: Would you like to present at our FIRST Championship Conferences?  We’re looking for presentations of technical and non-technical topics, including:
  • Technical Resources
  • Mentor/Coach/Volunteer Resources
  • Scholarship & Alumni
  • Education
  • Diversity & Inclusion
  • Innovation & Entrepreneurship
A session (50 minutes in length) covers one topic in depth. Workshops (110 minutes in length) cover topics and skills that are important the FIRST community - recent changes, new approaches, and timely content - and also provide substantive training and opportunities. Submit your idea on or before Friday, January 11, 2019. Please note that travel and accommodations will not be provided by FIRST.
Apple Engineering Technology Camp: As a FIRST Strategic Partner, Apple has invited FIRST to nominate students to apply for this opportunity. To apply for a FIRST nomination:

  • There are limited nominations available, and not all applicants will receive the opportunity.
