The FIRST® Robotics Competition Q&A is now open! Have questions about the INFINITE RECHARGESM game or Event Rules? Use the Q&A for official answers. Please assign one individual from your team to act as the Team Rules Expert; to access the Q&A system they will need to register an account and enter the access code found on the lead mentors’ Dashboard. This Team Rules Expert should be the only person responsible for posting questions to the Game Q&A Forum.
Before posting a question on the Q&A Forum, we encourage teams to look for the answers to questions first within the 2020 FIRST Robotics Competition Game Manual and Team Updates. You can review these documents on the Game & Season page.
2020 Game & Season Manual Translations now available! The Game Manual is now available in Turkish and Chinese, with French and Spanish available early next week! Teams can find these translations here. They are provided as a reference for teams. Accuracy of the translation is not verified by FIRST. Remember the official manual is published in English.
Deadline Extended! 2020 Apple Engineering Technology Summer Camp: Didn’t get your application submitted in time? Good news! The deadline was extended to Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. ET. You can complete your initial application online here!
VR Experience – Source Files Available: We hope you’ve had a chance to check out the variety of assets available on the Playing Field page that will help you get to know the INFINITE RECHARGE field. We’re adding new content today - want to see how AutomationDirect.com’s VR Simulations were created? AutomationDirect has provided the Unreal Engine ENTIRE Project file (may automatically download, ~1 GB) for you to download and play with! Hint: All of these were done with no text-based coding at all. They use the graphical BLUEPRINT node-based editor built into the Unreal Engine. Look for the Orange “SOURCE FILES” box at either of the links above.
Event Housing: While your team is unpacking the kit of parts, make sure to book your housing. Regional and District events start in less than eight weeks.
Book your team rooms now – Many hotel blocks close three (3) weeks before the event.
Search the week and name of your event to find guaranteed low rates at FIRST-reviewed and sanctioned hotels close to your event. When you book with FIRST, you and your team will also enjoy special amenities at most hotels including complimentary Wi-Fi, breakfast, and parking.
Deadline Approaching! 2020 FIRST Championship Conferences: We are now accepting presentation proposals for the 2020 FIRST Championship Conferences in Houston, TX and Detroit, MI. If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please complete the request for proposal form on or before January 13, 2020. Travel and accommodations will not be provided by FIRST. Youth Registration: Help improve our communication to FIRST youth team members and their parent/guardians by asking parents to register their youth today!
Why is this so important?
- Allow us to keep in touch with students about scholarships, internships and career opportunities
- Make it easier to create a team roster needed for events
- Provide FIRST with demographic data to help improve and grow our programs*
- Provide your team members with the ability to apply for team awards (FIRST® Robotics Competition only)
- Minimize the amount of paper containing personally identifiable data being collected at events
*FIRST uses youth information to understand who our programs are serving – ensuring that they are accessible to all. We also utilize aggregate information to meet sponsor requirements, such as the total number of team members and the percentage of boys and girls. Private information is not shared.
Get started today and learn more about registering youth team members by visiting our Youth Registration Overview page, and we encourage you and the parent/guardians to reach out to our Team Support group for assistance with youth registration. Our agents can troubleshoot issues and update account information if needed. They can be reached via email at email@example.com or by calling 1-800-871-8326 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday.
