Hi Friend,

Deadline Approaching! The Chairman’s Award and Woodie Flowers Award must be submitted prior to Thursday, February 7 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. You can edit your submission up to the submission deadline. The Chairman’s and Woodie Flowers awards must be submitted by a designated student award submitter from the FIRST® Dashboard. The lead coach/mentor 1 or 2 will need to designate up to two (2) award submitters from the Team Contacts/Roster page for the team member to have access to the award submission portal. Find more information, including steps to designate an award submitter, on the Awards page.

One week away! The deadline for the Dean’s List Award is Thursday, February 14 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. For more submission information click here.

Please be aware of the submission deadlines above, and email before the submission deadline for assistance. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Robot Stop Build Day is Tuesday, February 19 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time! Teams must stop building before the local equivalent of 04:59 UTC on Wednesday, February 20. For detailed information on the “Bag and Tag” process, please review Section 10.4, Budget Constraints & Fabrication Schedule, of the Game and Season Manual.

It’s crunch time! Stop Build Day is nearly here, and regional and district events are approaching. Your team is working hard to check every detail of the robot – but what about your team’s event housing? Check housing off your list – book your team rooms now for your 2019 events.

Search the week and name of your event to find guaranteed low rates at FIRST-reviewed and sanctioned hotels close to your event.

Why is Youth Registration Important? Besides our own need to understand who we are serving, registering has benefits to team members, such as receiving news, updates, and reminders. Additionally, FIRST Alumni Relations only knows who an alum is if they have registered, which allows for communications about continued benefits from FIRST experiences, such as scholarship, career, and other FIRST Alumni-only opportunities. For more information and resources please check out this blog post.

Having trouble completing the Youth Registration process? Our Team Support is here to offer parents, mentors, and students assistance, guidance, and answer questions surrounding the Youth Member registration process. They can be reached via email at, or by calling (603) 666-3906 ext. 0, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.

2019 National Advocacy Conference: June 23 - 25 in Washington, DC. WE NEED YOUR HELP getting more teams and more states represented on Capitol Hill this June. Your entire team doesn’t need to attend. Are any individuals on your team interested? Are there any other teams in your area that may want to work with you to get your voices heard? Students learn how to talk to members of Congress and then we send each team out for a day of meetings with Senators and Members of Congress to promote FIRST and STEM Education on behalf of every student in America! Register by April 1, 2019, to get some exclusive merchandise and to be entered for a chance to win a private reception! Visit for more information. FIRST® Robotics Competition and FIRST® Tech Challenge teams and individuals are welcome. Questions, more information, and registration: or email
