Class Pack Awards

FIRST^® LEGO^® League Class Pack awards are now available for purchase through Sports Awards for registered Class Pack customers. Options for purchase include ribbons, trophies, pencils, lanyards, and buttons. Customers must provide their Class Pack Account Number (found in the FIRST Dashboard) to complete their purchase. These awards are a great way to recognize students’ achievements at their culminating Class Pack celebrations.

Celebration Events

What can be greater than celebrating your students' hard work? Doing it through a culminating event! FIRST Education has developed guides to walk you through how to host your very own celebration and allow the students to show off their hard work.

FIRST Certified Professional Development

If you want hands-on FIRST LEGO League training, consider signing up for our professional development. Registration is open now for remote trainings this winter and spring. 

Hour of Engineering by Siemens

This new web-based program introduces engineering to students in a fun, relevant, and interactive manner to learn about the various engineering fields and the impact engineers have on our world. Hour of Engineering by Siemens aims to inspire, engage, and educate students on the fundamentals of engineering before high school. 

Core Values Activity - Marble Maze

Materials:

• LEGO^® bricks
• LEGO plate
• Marbles of different sizes (or small LEGO balls)

Setup: Have the teams of students work together to design a LEGO maze that will fit a marble. Place the maze and marble on the table.

Instructions to Team: Create the longest marble maze using the materials provided. Make the marble move from the beginning to the end of the maze by tilting the LEGO plate in different directions. Each team member may only place two fingers under the maze. The start is identified with green LEGO brick and the end with red LEGO brick.

Notes: If you do not have time for the team to create the maze, you can create one for them. You can also change this activity so that each student can have only one finger under the maze. You could require the team to sit down for this activity. Change the number and size of the marbles for added fun. 

This activity will help students practice Teamwork, Discovery, and Inclusion!

FIRST^® LEGO^® League Discover Class Pack

Spatial Learning

As students are thinking about and manipulating each and every DUPLO^® brick, they are building their spatial awareness. These skills are used in everyday life and linked to higher achievement in math and science. 

Our sessions help students practice and build skills in:

• Spatial vocabulary like "above" or "next to"
• Gross & fine motor skills 
• Visualizing
• Counting
• Recognizing colors & shapes
• Drawing what they physically build or mentally imagine 

FIRST^® LEGO^® League Explore Class Pack

Social-Emotional Learning

There are five key areas in which social-emotional learning (SEL) focuses: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and decision-making. Building these skills from a young age is important to a successful life. 

All of our programs provide opportunities for students to build these skills as they work together to achieve goals while learning to deal with frustrations along the way. Throughout the sessions, they aren't just learning about STEM, but learning about themselves and becoming confident leaders.

Early Computer Science Learning

Computer science is one of the fastest-growing fields and needs logical, analytical thinkers. Participation in FIRST LEGO League helps build these skills. We understand not every educator feels comfortable with programming, but there are a number of great tools out there to help you guide your students.
