Tens of thousands of students, coaches, volunteers, and supporters from 40+ countries will participate at the 2022 FIRST Championship event in Houston, a culminating celebration of the FIRST FORWARD^SM presented by Qualcomm season. With the support of FIRST sponsors, the event promises participating robotics teams and spectators alike an inspiring and action-packed experience that has all the heart-pounding thrills and team spirit of a professional sporting event.

We’re excited to return to the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston for a celebration of our robotics season. We interviewed Mariana Escobar Gallegos, one of the students featured in the original Disney+ documentary, "More Than Robots." Now a FIRST alum and mentor of FIRST^® Robotics Competition Team 4010 “Nautilus” from Monterrey, Mexico, Mariana says FIRST has shown her she can do anything: “In FIRST there's no need to know everything to be part of the community; you only need to be curious and open to learning.”

FIRST^® LEGO^® League Team 94 “Roboswords” was named a 2021 FIRST LEGO League Challenge Innovation Project Semi-Finalist for the innovative game they developed to help all students be physically and mentally active. Working on the project helped students on the village school team from Kayseri, Turkey, develop confidence. With Disney and Lucasfilm, we’re sharing their story as part of our Build the Future powered by Star Wars: Force for Change initiative.
