Check out our new campaign: “Get Anywhere”

FIRST® is thrilled to announce the launch of “Get Anywhere,” a campaign to grow awareness of how FIRST prepares young people for anything they choose to do after high school. "Get Anywhere" features a powerful video series featuring FIRST founder Dean Kamen and FIRST alumni whose real-life success stories at companies like John Deere, Nike, and RTX are rooted in their FIRST participation.

While students figure out their tomorrows, help them build their skills today. Start with FIRST and #GetAnywhere.

#Peopleof STEAM: Team Hammerheads

“For many of these kids, FIRST is their only opportunity to be on a competitive team. And one of the reasons they are so competitive is because they know that if they fail and get back up and try again, they’ll come out on the other side and succeed.” - Mike Berube, FIRST mentor.

Meet Team Hammerheads, a FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge team based out of the Developmental Pediatrics and Rehabilitation program at Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre (RJCHC) in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Through their participation in FIRST, the students are given the invaluable opportunity to build life skills and prepare for future independence.

FIRST is for everyone, and Team Hammerheads are a shining example of the magic that can happen when everyone gets to participate.

Meet FIRST® alum and artist Jason Nuttle

Jason Nuttle, a senior at Yale College, is combining engineering and art to create ingenious contraptions he calls “weird little creations.” After participating in FIRST in high school and taking a shop class, Jason was inspired to mash his passions of robotics and art to create incredible robotics pieces that mimic life. “It’s a special thing that we as humans can empathize, even with robotic beings. It’s something that makes us human,” Jason told YaleNews.
