2025 FIRST® Championship Update

Coming to you from FIRST® LEGO® League Headquarters in Manchester, NH, USA.   

Welcome World Festival Teams: 

This is the fourth email blast for the FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge World Festival at the 2025 FIRST® Championship presented by BAE Systems in Houston, TX, USA.

From April 16-19, teams from around the world will be together in Houston at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Many activities are in the works to encourage teams to visit and support the other FIRSTprograms – we will share information about these activities with you in the coming weeks.

We’ll be sharing important event information in these email blasts. Please read ALL provided information as it may pertain to your team and/or travel arrangements.

Event Guide Updates  
Detailed information about the Robot Game and World Festival judging have been added to the FIRST LEGO League Challenge addendum.

Coach Webinar - April 1, 2025 - 8 PM - 9 PM EDT   
Coaches, mark your calendars! Join us for an essential FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge Coach Webinar on April 1 to get the latest updates and key details for the FIRST LEGO League World Festival at FIRST Championship. This webinar will cover everything you need to know, including event expectations, venue details, judging, the robot game, and much more. Don't miss this chance to prepare your team for an unforgettable experience!

This webinar is only open to coaches with teams planning to attend the FIRST LEGO League Challenge World Festival at FIRST Championship. If you are unable to participate, a recording of the webinar will be made available. An additional coach meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 16 at the George R. Brown Convention Center to share final details.  

Registration details will be emailed to teams at the end of the week.  

Pre-Order Lunches   
Pre-order lunches are available at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Lunch on Saturday will happen before the closing ceremonies. In order to ensure we stay on time, we encourage you to make lunch arrangements prior to that morning. Lunch Order Form.

FIRST Championship Student Ambassador Program   
Are you a FIRST participant attending the 2025 FIRST Championship presented by BAE Systems? Consider becoming a Student Ambassador! This is a great opportunity to spend quality time with sponsors and other special guests of FIRST. We know our students are our best tour guides, and our guests would love to meet you! Time commitment for the role is a two-hour tour shift plus training.  

Please sign up to volunteer on your FIRST dashboard. This role is for students advancing to the Championship and ages 13 and up, including alumni, from all three programs. If you have any questions, please contact studentambassador@firstinspires.org.

Important Reminders:

Event Guide and Schedule 
Teams are expected to arrive and set up their pits on Wednesday, April 16. Be sure to review the FIRST LEGO League Challenge addendum for a detailed schedule, which will be updated regularly leading up to the event.    

The FIRST Championship Event Guide is your downloadable, printable guide to our event at the George R. Brown Convention Center, including notable happenings, safety information and event logistics.

Consent and Release Forms  
Every adult coach and mentor, and every student on your team must complete a Consent and Release form by April 2, 2025

For teams outside of the US or Canada: For information on how to complete your forms, please review your Welcome Letter that you received from fllwf@firstinspires.org. 

Teams in the US or Canada: The Consent and Release process is completed through the Team Roster in your team’s account. If your Team Roster is complete, then you have completed this step. 

Please note that this form is required for every student on your team, and the form must be signed by a legal parent or guardian, or the student may not be able to participate in the event. Coaches or mentors may not complete the form for team members unless they are the legal parent or guardian of the team members. 

Team Pit Space 
Your team will be assigned to an 8-foot x 8-foot (2.4 meters x 2.4 meters) space which will be your home at the World Festival. Be sure to review the FIRST LEGO League Challenge addendum for more information!

Register for the Encore Celebration! 
The Encore is a celebration for all teams on Saturday, April 19. Each team will be assigned two Alliance Partners and together, will play a robot game that will be released on site. Bring your robots, computers, extra parts, and SUBMERGEDSM Challenge sets.

Join us for lots of fun, tons of Gracious Professionalism®, and Core Values in what has become a legendary part of FIRST LEGO League World Festival! This is for bragging rights only — game on, everyone! 

To participate in the encore, please complete this form by Monday, March 31, 2025
