Providing female students with opportunities that not only ignite excitement around STEM learning, but help them see themselves in the STEM fields, is a critical piece in closing the workforce gender gap. In Forbes, FIRST CEO Chris Moore discusses the importance of female representation in shaping career paths and how companies can inspire young girls to pursue STEM by providing role models and encouraging STEM exploration:

Work with other teachers, facilitators, coaches, and mentors to acquire or strengthen project-based learning facilitation skills and gain experience with all aspects of one of the FIRST programs.

Coaches, educators, and mentors – join us this summer for a five-day immersive, hands-on learning experience about all things robots and FIRST.  

The FIRST Tech Challenge Academy professional development is a 40-hour in-person course that gives attendees a deep understanding of a FIRST Tech Challenge season and how to implement the program to achieve STEM learning objectives.  

The Academy will be hosted in two locations:  

🚀 Monday, June 10, 2024, through Friday, June 14, 2024, at Forest Lake Academy near Orlando, Florida.

🚀 Monday, July 29, 2024, through Friday, August 2, 2024, at Davis Middle School Campus in Compton, California.
