This back to school season, learn how FIRST® programs can enrich your education curriculum and open a world of possibility for kids as they prepare for the future. Plus, enter to win a hands-on, FIRST program experience (more below).
Experience the impact of FIRST
This school year, teachers and parents have new options to connect with youth and open their world of possibility as they prepare for the future. FIRST is an exciting, inclusive robotics community that prepares children in grades PreK-12 for the industries of tomorrow. FIRST programs introduce students to necessary skills like critical thinking and coding in an environment where they work collaboratively to solve robotics challenges. And these programs also leave a lasting impact with educators and mentors, as students gain new skills, confidence and teaching opportunities that they might not have otherwise had.
FIRST programs drive STEM forward in the classroom
  • FIRST students are over 3x more likely to show gains STEM interest.
  • 89% of FIRST alumni declared a STEM major by sophomore year of college.
  • Young women in FIRST are 3.7x more likely to take coursework in engineering, and 5.3x more likely to take coursework in computer science.
Learn alongside your students
Through our powerful robotics community, we can turn your classroom into a place where students learn by doing, where teamwork comes naturally and where trial and error is encouraged. For parents and educators, you have options to introduce FIRST programs at home or in the classroom:
  • FIRST Class Pack: For K-12 educators wishing to introduce STEM and robotics in their classrooms after school programs, Class Pack provides teachers with all the materials and support to run a high-quality, project-based robotics challenge that supports in-classroom curriculum and goals. Class Pack is a non-competitive and easy to implement option to introduce youth to hands-on robotics and teamwork skills.
  • FIRST Competitive Team: Teams of K-12 students work together to research, design and build a robot that solves a real-world challenge. Parents and educators can start, mentor or coach a team - and no experience is required! FIRST will provide support and resources to help you guide your team.
