The FIRST® Robotics Competition launched its 2017 season with a global Kickoff watched by more than 83,400 high-school students via livestream. The FIRST® STEAMWORKS℠ game is the first to include human players on the field interacting with robots.

FIRST has revealed that the Winning Alliances from the FIRST Championship in St. Louis and Houston will get the chance to meet and compete. The FIRST Festival of Champions will take place where it all began, in New Hampshire (July 28-29, 2017).
FIRST collaborated with the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity to develop free Invisible Inequities training modules for creating equitable teams.
