Training teachers to get comfortable with robotics

FIRST® alum Johnathan Gales runs a two-day workshop outside of the University of Memphis to help K-12 teachers embrace robotics as a vehicle for advancing hands-on learning. Through the workshop, Gales inspires the same curiosity and perseverance in the teachers that they’ll pass on to their students in the upcoming school year.

Transformative learning through robotics

As a residential school and community center in Louisville, Kentucky, the Boys & Girls Haven serves vulnerable young people who have been removed from their families and often faced disruptive, chaotic living environments. A FIRST STEM Equity Community Innovation Grant funded two FIRST® Tech Challenge teams, creating a stimulating, enriching environment for learning academic and life skills.
