The New York City Department of Education District 75 serves students with moderate to severe disabilities, including students on the autism spectrum. The district incorporated FIRST® LEGO® League Jr. into many of its schools, improving students' language, creativity, and social skills.

FIRST Alum Pursues Career in the Space Industry

FIRST Alum Alex Kaplan found a “safe place to fail” while participating in FIRST® Robotics Competition. He is now majoring in aerospace engineering and pursuing a career in the space industry. As a mentor to two FIRST teams, he’ll be inspiring many students to follow his path during the FIRST LAUNCH 2019 season.
