Jay Flores, Global STEM Ambassador at Rockwell Automation, a FIRST^® Strategic Partner, explores the importance of keeping kids energized and engaged in STEM during school breaks. Jay offers tips to maintain interest and to reinforce the skills students work so hard to learn.

From a rural Navajo community in Utah, and with limited resources, Fredele Burns and his FIRST^® Robotics Competition team built their robot largely out of scrap metal. Fredele’s participation on the team earned him a full-ride scholarship to the University of Utah, bringing him closer to his dream of becoming a doctor. His experience with FIRST taught him that “you can create anything out of nothing.”
