Grant Funding at Work (and Play) in Detroit

The S.A.Y. Detroit Play Center is a state-of-the-art nonprofit youth recreation center in Detroit, Michigan. In 2016, the center was awarded a FIRST® STEM Equity Community Innovation Grant to introduce FIRST programs as part of its no-cost after-school offerings. The center formed five FIRST teams, providing students meaningful opportunities to collaborate as part of a team, engage in STEM skills, and compete in tournaments.

FIRST Scholarship Supports Next Generation of Innovators in Medicine

One of the many opportunities available to FIRST Alumni is the Dr. Bart Kamen Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship has provided recipient Sarah Rudasil the financial freedom to study medicine, inspiring her to mentor the next generation of Bart Kamen Scholars.

“Jump Start” Your FIRST® Tech Challenge Season

FIRST® Tech Challenge Jump Start provides resources for new teams to prepare for a successful 2018/2019 season. Teams get a head start on learning robot building and programming, the FIRST Tech Challenge curriculum, and a full credit to the 2018/2019 season registration. FIRST Tech Challenge Jump Start offers need-based grants and is open through March 30.
