News Corp & DonorsChoose.org are Helping Teachers in the U.S. Engage Students in Hands-On STEM Learning
DonorsChoose.org makes it easy for public school teachers from all over the United States to request funding for projects. Teachers create classroom project requests, which are fulfilled by generous citizen donors as well as corporations and foundations.
Through a generous donation from News Corp in partnership with DonorsChoose.org, partial funding is available to support FIRST programs that engage K-12 students in hands-on STEM learning.
This funding opportunity is available for materials for new and existing teams for all FIRST programs*:

|Robot parts, tools, laptops, tablets, 3D printers, Pitsco and/or Andy Mark materials, or any other related team materials|

Who is Eligible for Funding?
This opportunity is open to any educator in a public or public charter school located in the United States who is employed full time by the school or school district and works directly with students at least 75 percent of the time. In the spirit of the DonorsChoose.org crowdfunding model, this campaign will not fund 100 percent of any posted FIRST project.
Priority for funding is given to registered FIRST teams, schools, and school districts that demonstrate and support Equity, Diversity & Inclusion efforts from FIRST.

Participation in FIRST programs require the purchase of a season registration, as well as the materials needed to design, build, and program for season-specific robotic challenges. Priority for funding is given to registered FIRST teams, schools and districts. Follow the steps below to register your team:
- Register your team through the FIRST Registration System.
- Sign up for local events if you’re interested in participating/competing in a FIRST® LEGO® League Jr, FIRST® LEGO® League, FIRST® Tech Challenge, or FIRST® Robotics Competition event. Contact your Local Partner to register (In some regions, these events fill up quickly).
