FIRST® Tech Challenge (for students in grades 7-12) is one of four STEM-robotics programs from FIRST® that immerses and engages students in real-world science and technology challenges. Teams design, build, and program robots to particpate in exciting themed games every year.
Now is a great time to give FIRST Tech Challenge a try. You can start a team just for fun or get a jump start and prepare for the season ahead without the pressure of competition. Practice teambuilding skills, programming, robot design, and much more!
Register your team for the current 2016-2017 season before April 14, 2017, and when the season opens in September, you'll receive a FREE registration for the 2017-2018 season.
When you register, you will get full access to our FIRST® Class Curriculum, designed to be a stand-alone robotics/programming/engineering course for grades 7-12.
Take a look at our 5 Steps to Get Started Infographic to jump in today.
Teams that take advantage of the FIRST Jump Start program in 2017 will be classified as rookie teams in the 2017-2018 season. Jump Start teams will pay the $275 registration fee as well as purchase any materials, such as the robot kit. Because of this, they will not be able to take advantage of FIRST provided grants that traditionally are applied to kit and registration costs. They will still be eligible for sponsor provided grants outside of the ones supplied by FIRST.
