Are you a FIRST® participant attending the FIRST® Championship? Consider becoming a Student Ambassador! This is a great opportunity to spend quality time with Sponsors and other special guests of FIRST.

As part of the FIRST Championship, we ask FIRST participants to assist us in providing fun and exciting tours to our generous Sponsors and other special guests. We know our students are our best tour guides, and our guests would love to meet you! Volunteer to be a Student Ambassador at the FIRST Championship this year and show our guests what FIRST is all about.

Load-In/Team Check-In
Early Bird Check-In is available on Tuesday between 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. During this time, you and your team will be able to drop off your pit displays and team tools in your assigned pit. You and your team may choose to begin set-up, but absolutely no robot practice is allowed.
Upon your arrival, you will be given your Pit Assignment.

Teams will drive up to the first-floor loading dock off of Chartres Street, Halls B. Teams cannot unload on Chartres Street. Teams cannot leave vehicles unattended at any time. Team Vehicles will be directed to numbered spaces by load in volunteers.

During load-in, your team is still expected to be wearing closed-toed shoes and safety glasses. You should not be working on your robot during early bird check-in, nor planning on any robot practice. This is an option for teams to get their pits set up for the competition days ahead.

More information on load-in can be found here.

Day of Check-In: Your team must be checked-in by 7:30AM. Plan your travel accordingly. Even if your inspection/judge interview time may be later in the morning, having all teams present is essential. Our volunteers strive to work efficiently and having teams arrive late places everyone (teams included) behind schedule.

Inspection and Judging
Robot Inspection will be held in your team Pit area. You will be assigned a time ahead of schedule and your team and robot are expected to be present at your Pit during that time. Our Volunteer Robot Inspectors will come to your pit.

Field Inspection will be held on the competition field. Although we have Queuers who will remind you to queue for your inspection time, please arrive at your assigned time. To help both inspection process, please print the Robot/Field Self-Inspection Checklist: https://www.firstinspires.org/resource-library/ftc/game-and-season-info

*Please note:
We will be spraying the competition fields and practice fields with a light layer of Staticide on Tuesday evening before the competition begins. We are confident that this amount of spray will help lessen the effects of ESD on our fields.

Judging times are assigned ahead of time. You will receive a separate email with your assigned time. The judging rooms are located In the FIRST® Tech Challenge Hall of the George R. Brown Convention Center, Hall A. Plan additional time to make the journey to these rooms. We will have Queuers to help remind you of your times, but it is up to the team to arrive on time to their judging. To help prepare, check out our Team Judging Self-Reflection sheet.

Load-Out
Load-Out occurs the Saturday of World Championship. After our Elimination rounds have ended, we will have our Award Ceremony on our Competition Field. Our Finals will be held at Minute Maid Field.

Between the Award Ceremony and the Finals matches, teams are expected to breakdown their Pits and load-out.

Please be respectful of other teams and the public in your departure, leave your area clean, and be safe. Team load out will be Saturday, 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.  More in-depth load-out instructions can be found here.
