Getting your students excited about STEM is easy with FIRST® Tech Challenge Jump Start.
Students in grades 7-12 design, build, and program robots while developing strategic problem-solving, organizational, and team-building skills. No prior experience with robotics is necessary to start a team.
With FIRST Tech Challenge Jump Start, your team receives:
- time to practice robot building and programming without the pressure of competition
- access to FIRST® Class, our FIRST Tech Challenge curriculum
- a full credit towards 2018/2019 season registration
- a discounted kit of parts
- opportunities to attend local events and meet other coaches and teams
If your team needs additional help, up to $550 in need-based grants are available to newly created teams that have not yet paid for registration, sponsored by Qualcomm, DEKA, NRG, Boeing, and Github.
To take advantage of FIRST Tech Challenge Jump Start, teams must complete registration by March 30, 2018.
FIRST Tech Challenge Jump Start is sponsored by:
NRG | Boeing | Github | Arconic
Teams that take advantage of FIRST Tech Challenge Jump Start in 2018 are responsible for paying the $275 registration fee, as well as the purchase of any materials and robot kit of parts. 2018 Jump Start teams will be classified as rookies for the 2018-2019 season (May 2018-April 2019). Because of this, these teams will not be eligible for FIRST provided grants that are traditionally are applied to kit of parts and registration costs for the 2018-2019 season. However, teams will still be eligible for sponsor-provided grants.
