Funding up to $500 is now available for new FIRST® Tech Challenge teams.
FIRST® is the world’s leading child-serving nonprofit advancing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). FIRST programs inspire innovation and leadership through engaging, hands-on robotics challenges developed to ignite curiosity and passion in students in grades K-12.
In FIRST® Tech Challenge, teams of up to 15 students (grades 7-12) explore the possibilities of STEM through designing, building, programming, and operating robots to play a floor game in an alliance format. They practice engineering principles while realizing the value of teamwork, innovation, and sharing ideas, and participants are eligible to apply for $80 million+ in college scholarships.
Through generous donations, need-based grants are available – making now the perfect time to start a team and join the vibrant community of more than 400,000 participants world-wide.
Rookie (new) FIRST Tech Challenge teams can apply for a $275 registration grant, and another $225 to help pay for materials, totaling $500 in funding.
