Greetings 2017 FIRST® Championship Teams: 
We are looking forward to seeing all of you at the FIRST Championship in St. Louis next month!  Be sure to keep up with the latest information at  
Student Ambassador Opportunities 
Are you a FIRST® participant attending the FIRST Championship? Consider becoming a Student Ambassador! This is a great opportunity to spend quality time with Sponsors and other special guests of FIRST. 
As part of the FIRST Championship, we ask FIRST participants to assist us in providing fun and exciting tours to our generous Sponsors and other special guests. We know our students are our best tour guides, and our guests would love to meet you! Volunteer to be a Student Ambassador at the FIRST Championship this year and show our guests what FIRST is all about. This role will be one to two hours during the entire event. 
To volunteer as a Student Ambassador: 
  • Log into the Volunteer Information and Matching System (VIMS) or create a FIRST account if you do not have one. 
  • Fill out all required profile information. 
  • To apply to volunteer, click on “Volunteer Role Applications" then "Apply for an Event." 
  • Use the filters to select either the Houston or St. Louis Championship event and select “Ambassador” as role 
  • Click on “Apply For Selected Roles” to complete the application. 
  • Continue to the background screening process (for those who are 18 or older).

Championship Activities, Events and Travel: FIRST has partnered with GET Sports to provide assistance with all your travel needs to the FIRST Championship! Whether you need help with flights, charter busses, rental cars, or shuttles, GET Sports has a solution for you. This year they have added some additional services for your convenience, including meal deals at local restaurants, tours and attractions, and travel insurance. They even have some great fundraising solutions! And they aren't all business either! GET Sports has also partnered with some of the great local attractions to provide activities for teams in their spare time. Be sure to check out these options, as well as the FIRST City Quest by visiting their website at 
Monsanto Tours: During the FIRST Championship in St. Louis, Monsanto will be hosting free tours of their facility in Chesterfield.  It is about 30 minutes from our Championship locations and transportation will be provided.  The total time commitment is about 3 hours.  Students ages 12 and older, as well as mentors/coaches/parents, are invited and space is limited.   
    Date and Time Information: 
                Wednesday, April 26th 1pm – 4pm (includes transportation time) 
                Thursday, April 27th 1pm – 4pm (includes transportation time)  
Additional information will be available soon and the deadline to register is April 12th (strict deadline).  
Registration and permission slips are required for all adult and student participants. Please utilize the link below to register! 
Shipping your Robot to the FIRST Championship: All competing teams MUST ship their robot to the FIRST Championship event, using the FedEx donation. Teams who qualify at Regional Events or get invited off the Waitlist will receive electronic shipping documents via email. Teams who qualify at District Championship Events will receive paper copies of the shipping documents prior to leaving. Make sure to keep an eye out for communication from concerning shipping your robot.
